I talked it over with him, ish alright though :'3
<END OF EDIT>

A commission from someone on FA :la:

I quite like the results x3
They payed for this with a 3 month premium and only asked for colored and shaded of Infernous :'3
It was really generous of them! :iconeep2plz:

So I decided to try scales but i was getting lazy and I found that using a texture in SAI works great for LAZY scales :iconhurrhurrplz:

And I tried my best with an actual light source here! :meow:
I've put a critique box on this cause I wanna know how I am doing on;
ANATOMY, SHADING, AND EXPRESSION!
If you are gonna critique this, please note that I already know his hind right leg is messed up ~ :iconsawthatplz:
It was a fail, and I couldn't fix it >:U

Anyway, I thank for the commission, and ish ONE LESS THING I GOTTA DO :la:

Overwhelming impact. The pose and expression are two of a kind, and it is obvious to say this dragon has a devious personality. You made an excellent work with both the pose and the expression. The pose is menacing, but mischievous at the same time, probably showing fighting for him is just another game. I adore the scales texture you managed to do with the Sponge filter in Photoshop. I would have never guessed it looked so well, even though it's lazy. You have a really keen skill to draw expressions; his is flawless in any way. I love the eyes and the colouring, shading and style you did to them. And his fangs look absolutely awesome, well shaded, and pointy. Love that.
I could see you forgot to smoothen some shading in small parts of the body, but that's ok, we all forget to colour or shade small parts of the drawing. The good news is, to spot that you have to download the image and look at it zoomed up, which means it's nothing to worry at all. In the small view, it looks fantastic, and you can observe the beautiful anatomy of the dragon. Maybe the wings needed a few more muscles on the shoulder parts, but it's ok. I really like the highlight you did to the edges of the drawing, it gives a pretty look.
In my point of view I would say what you need to focus on is shading, because the anatomy is perfect, those wings are amazing by the way; their "fingers" are flawless. You have a terrific pulse, and I could hardly see any trembling lines on those smooth curbs. The expression is amazing, but you need a little bit more of practice with shading.
For example try to use smaller brushes to shade small parts, and bigger brushes to make it smoother and shade big parts. Doing so will give the surface a rounder texture, don't skip shading on some parts of the body, add the shadows everywhere. Shadows are always present. What I see in your shading style is that you use a very smooth brush and strike the pen on the areas you want to shade, that's good. But also remember there are some parts that need shading, for example the edges of the body. If you shade the beck of this dragon on its upper edge, you might successfully give it a rounder shape. And tyr to shade the belly when it connects with the scales, because it gives the sensation that it is much closer than the body itself, and use a stronger shading on the edges of the plates of his belly, for example. There are many things of shading that we can learn, I don't even consider myself a good one, I am still learning. We all do. And these were just a few tips.
But in an overall view, you just created another marvelous piece of art, and you have blown my mind sincerely, you overdid it, Beth <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/m/m…" width="15" height="15" alt=":meow:" title="Meow :3"/> You are improving with each day that passes.
